Kewane nyenggut ana ing pasuketan,

Matahari menyinarkan kemuliaan,
Dan ketika anginnya sepoi-sepoi,
Burung pun sedang berkicau,
Hewan ternak sedang merumput,
Semua memuji Allah Yang Mulia .

ONLY IN SUNGAI PETANI.......6th BRIGADE TOOK OVER THE TRAINING DEPOT BRIGADE OF GURKHAS
ONLY IN SUNGAI PETANI..........6TH BRIGADE TOOK OVER THE TRAINING DEPOT BRIGADE OF GURKHAS
Let's turn back........since 1938 the Sungai Petani army barracks already inhabited by The Nepalese Gurkhas and the British Troops. To cut short, in 1972 the Gurkhas left for Nepal and the camp was taken over by the Malaysian Army.Prior to that the Training Depot of Brigade of Gurkhas was established on the 15 August,1951.It became the biggest Training Camp. The 6th Brigade then came and took over the Gurkha Boys' Brigade at Jalan Sungai Layar, as soon as the Gurkha Army and the British Troops left.
Capt Arshad Raji SC 'Q' the first convoy to arrive said ,'Quote' :
It was getting dark when we arrived, and the electricity to all the buildings had been disconnected. We checked into some of the buildings which were not locked, but because it was dark, we all decided to sleep in the garage next to the main entrance to the HQ, where the street lights had brightened up the surrounding area. .............. Since there was no proper Officers Mess, the officers that had arrived unaccompanied, were accommodated at the Sg. Petani Rest House, until such time that the Officers Mess was fully renovated, and this took several months.
It took the Brigade for almost a year to be fully operational
