EC unfair
According to Anwar, Barisan Nasional and Umno do not want fair and clean elections because “they want to cheat” to win.
“Even the Election Commission chairperson speaks and behaves like an Umno branch chairman who is arrogant,” he said.
“I know of a house in Permatang Pauh where there are four or five people occupying it, but when there is an election, 82 people cast their votes from the house.
“When we informed the EC about it, the officer said that I still won. It is not the question of whether I won or not, but whether there was cheating or not. Maybe I would have won with a bigger majority.
“The officer also said that if there was cheating, how come Pakatan Rakyat had won six states including Kuala Lumpur.
“This is the type of arrogance displayed by the Election Commission,” Anwar said.
He added that a clean and fair election in March 2008 would have seen Pakatan Rakyat forming the federal government.
