JUST TO SHARE THE NEWS FROM FRANCE'S NEWSPAPER

Sleep sailing : A 74-year-old man who fell asleep on his inflatable matress as it floated off the beach at Berck-sur-Mer finally woke up to find that he had drifted 10km off-shore. He told rescuers that from time to time he opened his eyes but fell asleep again. The sea was flat calm but the rising tide gradually moved his lilo out to sea. When he finally woke up properly he managed to attract the attention of the crew of a sailing boat who came to his rescue. He was then taken ashore be a sea rescue launch and after some hours in hospital was allowed home. The local maritime authorities reminded holiday makers that inflatable mattresses should be attached to the beach by a light line, especially when used by children off beaches where there is a strong current.
